Weekly sessions held online, for one hour

  • Wednesdays 8th January - 12th March, 8-9pm
These sessions will be hosted by Sarah Leroux, a qualified yoga instructor with 25 years experience of teaching, and menopause specialist. These weekly sessions are for anyone living or working in the Brighton and Hove area, that are going through the menopause transition and, for those that aren't sure. They will provide you with the opportunity to get active with others and are suitable for all levels of fitness and experience.

Navigating Menopause at Work: How Yoga Can Help You Find Balance

This in-person session will be hosted by Sarah Leroux, a qualified yoga instructor with 25 years experience of teaching, and menopause specialist. It's for anyone going through (or will go through) the menopause transition working in a small to medium sized business within Brighton & Hove.

This session will give you information around the Menopause including symptoms, treatments and support as well as walk you through some guided breathing and relaxation methods. You will not need to bring a yoga mat or sportswear as this will be based around breathing and relaxation.

The session will cover:

  • What is perimenopause and menopause
  • What symptoms people experience during the menopause transition
  • Treatment options and support
  • How can perimenopause and menopause affect you at work
  • Simple but effective Yoga breathing exercises to help you cope with insomnia, anxiety, hot flushes.
  • A guided relaxation/meditation to bring balance and calm.

Menopause Healthwalk

Free guided 1.5 mile flat walk for anyone going through the menopause transition or, for those that aren’t sure.

The walk will be led by Healthwalks and a menopause specialist so you can get active and meet and chat to others with the option to stay for a cuppa and a chat afterwards.

Keeping active before, during and after menopause will keep you healthy and can help to manage your symptoms too.

This session is for anyone that is self-employed or working within a small to medium sized business in Brighton and Hove, that is going through the Menopause transition. The session will be led by local Menopause Specialist Nurse Sarah Leroux and Health Improvement Specialist Laura Wood from Brighton and Hove City Council. During the session you will be able to hear (and share) experiences and leave feeling empowered to have a conversation with your employer around simple, Menopause-friendly workplace adjustments.
